Why the World Wars Should Never be Forgotten
The World Wars claimed many lives and left communities, as well as entire countries obliterated. As history is known to be written by the proclaimed winners of wars, there are many stories, names, histories, and devastation that is then forgotten. The acts of devastation committed in the name of war and long-lasting effects are also important to remember, as it has been said that the best predictor of our future is our past.
World War I killed over 37 million people. 37 million families were devastated, communities left without fathers, husbands, and brothers. The world did not learn from this war however, and World War II followed leaving over 60 million people dead. Every country lost significant percentages of their populations during the wars. 97 million people and their families are the most important reasons that we should never forget the World ...
